Hunter Valley Wedding DJ and MC

Let me introduce myself. I’m DJ Kelso, and I love Hunter Valley weddings! There’s something pretty special about celebrating in one of Australia’s best wine regions. Whether it’s a vineyard, rustic barn or stunning country estate, the Hunter Valley knows how to put on an incredible wedding.

For your ceremony and cocktail hour, I’ll take care of the tunes and microphone. Then I’ll ramp up the energy as your DJ/MC for the reception. Finally, we’ll high-five each other, and you’ll realise you can’t feel your feet anymore. If that’s your kind of wedding, reach out here. Let’s go!

Read this before booking your DJ

Don’t book your DJ based on a 10 second edited Instagram Reel.

Always listen to long-format DJ sets. After all, this is what you’re paying for.

Can they hold a crowd? Can they mix?

I’m proud of my dance floors and mixes. Watch the video and tell me what you think!

What My Couples Say

Wedding MC Hunter Valley

Don’t stress out your mate with the job. I’ll take care of the announcements and timekeeping – they can get drunk with you!

As your Hunter Valley wedding MC, I’ll do much more than a few announcements. Think of me as your event host. I’ll organise all the vendors and venue, keep track of time and ensure your night runs smoothly. Plus, I’ll make announcements and bring the vibes.

Getting Married in the Hunter Valley

There’s a reason the Hunter Valley is one of the most popular wedding destinations in NSW. Vineyards, rolling hills, incredible food and wine, and some seriously beautiful wedding venues. It also gives your guests an excuse to make a weekend of it!

Best time of year to get married in the Hunter Valley

Personally, I think autumn and spring are hard to beat for a Hunter Valley wedding. Spring brings the vineyards back to life, while autumn gives you beautiful country colours and cooler evenings. Summer can definitely be a vibe, but keep in mind it can get hot! Winter weddings are also seriously underrated. Crisp nights, country venues and a packed dance floor? I’m in.

Booking accommodation

My biggest tip is to encourage your guests to stay close to the venue. The Hunter Valley is pretty spread out, so organising a bus or shuttle between your venue and accommodation is a great idea. I’d also recommend booking early, especially around busy weekends and major events.

My favourite Hunter Valley wedding venues

As for wedding venues, the Hunter Valley is absolutely stacked with incredible options. My favourites are Peterson House, Redleaf, Dark Horse, Circa 1876, Enzo Weddings and Wallalong House.

My advice? Pick a venue that suits the kind of wedding you actually want (and your budget). Relaxed and rustic? Elegant vineyard wedding? Huge dance floor and an all-out party? There’s something for everyone in the Hunter Valley.

Don’t forget: always make sure your venue has a wet-weather option.
